This is my response to this week’s photo prompt by “Friday Fictioneers”.

It felt like Indian summer, but Jess and Levi wanted to make the best of their holiday. Jess loved to roam, and Levi was an architect. This Spanish town definitely checked all the boxes for their dream destination.
They were about to experience everything – the food, the wine, the flamenco and the most exciting of all, “La Tomatina”. But Levi wanted to see this historic synagogue.
At the entrance, Jess touched a statue. A man with a hat. Its shadow fell on the grass.
The moment she touched it, the building twisted. But Levi had entered the building already.

The world’s biggest annual food fight. I think I’ve heard of it before but I’m not sure. Sounds like fun (well, not so much for Levi).

Yeah, people throw tomatoes 🍅 on each other 😁. I would rather watch the flamenco dance and sip the wine 🍷 😉. Thanks for reading James.

Surabhi, it sounds like the beginning of an adventure. Whether thriller or horror remains to be seen. Will you consider writing a part 2?

Thanks for reading Lisa, I haven’t thought of the plot yet. But maybe I should give it a try 🤔.

Dear Rochelle,
This time I took the liberty of writing a fantasy piece although your prompt was historical fiction. Thanks for hosting and reading my story 😀.

Actually, the prompt was just a photo of an old synagogue. Historical fiction is what I chose to write for my own story. Everyone is free to chose their own genre. It’s whatever the photo says to you. 😉
