THIS WAY – THAT WAY

This is my response to this week’s photo prompt by “Friday Fictioneers”.

Nina opened the curtains. Stepping out for her morning stroll, she felt exceptionally restless.

It wasn’t that Sam got an unusual diagnosis or Brick invested all his money in a stupid business venture. Melissa was also coming over after fighting with Ethan again. All of this was overwhelming, but this wasn’t the first time.

Is this menopause? Why is she overthinking? Nina just couldn’t put a finger on it.

Lost in her thoughts, she took a wrong turn.  And found her answers. A garden signpost with colourful pointers. She smiled. A tea party with my bestie. That’s what I need.

Or as Rod Serling would often say on one of my favorite 1960s TV shows, “At the signpost up ahead…The Twilight Zone.”
