Bells, Books & a Moka Pot

This is my response to this week’s photo prompt by “Friday Fictioneers”.

Nonna’s house looks eerily quiet without her. Salt and Pepper loved playing with bells. They are everywhere; I don’t know why.

Something just moved! The bell on this shelf is a lever!

It opened something. But what? Did she have a secret room?

Huh, so much for excitement…

Just a hidden cabinet behind the books.

Money? Jewellery? No, just an old diary.

But why hide it?

This Christmas Eve, I’ll make coffee in her favourite Bialetti Moka pot and spend the night with my Nonna’s diary.

No eggnog, no hot chocolate, just me and my Nonna’s diary.
