Today, I’m excited to dive into writing a fun 100-word fictional story for the weekly photo prompt from Friday Fictioneers!

This week’s PHOTO PROMPT 

As we entered the new restaurant, my gaze rose to the wooden ceiling, a boxed rutilant light dazzled with gold and red oriental decorations.

Buzzing with excitement… awaiting our delicious Chinese feast, we were celebrating the publication of my first research article. The vibrant red walls mirrored our enthusiasm and our appetites.

The only accent wall at the back, painted blue, displayed a haphazard collage of canvas paintings. The blue wall tried to fit in, trying to belong, to make sense of its surroundings, unaware of what comes next. Just like me…
