The Joy of Returning to Friends

Daily writing prompt
What movies or TV series have you watched more than 5 times?

Friends! Undoubtedly, Friends is the best show. I have watched its reruns countless times. The second runner-up is definitely The Big Bang Theory. As a scientist, how could I not enjoy The Big Bang Theory?

I’d love to share my thoughts on another TV show I enjoyed growing up: “Dawson’s Creek.” I know, I know, don’t judge me; I was a teenager back then! Today, I couldn’t help but think about the show because it’s “Friday the 13th.” Dawson, the main character, dreamed of becoming a filmmaker and was really interested in the whole “Friday the 13th” vibe. It’s funny how those memories pop up!

In many cultures, the number 13 is often seen as unlucky, and it’s understandable why this belief persists. The connection to “The Last Supper,” where Judas Iscariot was the thirteenth guest, adds a sombre tone to the idea of “Friday the 13th,” making it feel even more significant for those who are superstitious. It’s interesting, yet a bit unsettling, to know that the fear of this day has a name: paraskevidekatriaphobia. Many people grapple with these feelings, and it’s okay to acknowledge that they can be overwhelming at times. By the way, if you’re into thrillers, have you seen the movie “Friday the 13th”? It taps into these fears in an intense way, which can be both captivating and chilling.

Are you superstitious at all, or do you find these traditions more fascinating than frightening?

Drop me a line, let me know what you think!!!
